Here I will blog my journey to a new life. I am about to undergo surgery for the Gastric Bypass (RNY). I have about 107 lbs to get rid of, not lose but to get rid of.

Today
I went for my 2nd month visit with my PCP for my weigh-in and check-in.
I don't think his scales are right though, cause I had just weighed at
home and at physical therapy and they were the same and it said I didn't
lose anything but then again also said I hadn't gained anything either.
But when they weighed me at my PCP it said I gained 5 lbs this month. He
was NOT happy bout that. I gave him my food log with the calorie, fat,
and protein count and he says I am eating the right things. He prescribed
me a med for my thyroid, to see if that will help. He sent me for blood-work recently to test for the thyroid and hormones but all came out
ok. So he wants to see if this med will help kick in my metabolism. He
also wants me to walk an hour a day, and also join a gym as well. He was
disappointed in the gain, but like I said I think his scales are wrong
since my scale and the physical therapy scales read the same. But I
guess his is what counts. Gonna get me a new scale tomorrow (current one
is only a yr old) and also go over to "Curves"
and join there. He wants me to work-out there at least 3 times a week
and walk the hour everyday. He doesn't understand why I'm not losing any
according to his scale. He had put me on a 1200 - 1400 calorie diet to
begin with, now he don't want me going anywhere over 1200 calorie. He said
1000 - 1200 calorie is the max he wants me to do. We'll see.

Hi
everyone. Well I made it back from my trip to Missouri to have a late
christmas visit with my family. It snowed while we were there, enjoyed
that a bit. They made fun of me cause kept the seat heater on high in
the rental car. And also cause I stayed bundled up in my coat I had
bought up in Alaska when we went on our cruise for a week to Alaska in
May. So now we are home and I brought back one of my grand-son's with me
(3 yr old....boy its a challenging moment after 26 yrs not having a
small child....lol). But good news, I lost 9 lbs while I was out there, I
dont know how with all the fudge, M&M's, etc that I ate at my mom's
and on the plane. But feels so good to be back home. Ha....never
thought I would say that about Arizona. But I do miss it out there. A
week just wasnt long enough. Took my daughter, daughter-in-law, and my
(hopefully) soon-to-be daughter-in-law to get a pedicure, it was my
daughter and daughter-in-law's first time, they were scared they was
gonna kick the pedicurist (???) but they did good and we had a total
blast there that day. We had those girls rollin in the floor that day.
Then I went on over to walmart across the street when we were done and
finally broke down and bought me the new Kindle Fire which has my book
"Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies" on it and read it on the plane ride
home. Love that book. I was shocked when I got home and weighed myself
the next day after getting home to see I had lost 9 lbs while out there
after all I had eaten while there. Now to get back on track again. I
sooooooo missed my juicer so much. I make my own juice, never buy store
bought. I also make the green juice with the fruits and
veggies.......mmmmmmm! So I will get off of here and quit boring you
all. I have my next monthly visit with my pcp for the 6 month supervised
diet on Friday, then 4 more to go to get the process going from there.
Sold my motorcycle today (boohoo) so will get me another one (bigger) as
soon as I find a good deal on it. Ordered me a WII today with the FIT
bundle in it, gonna have to get it started anyways when I finally get a
surgery date so might as well get started now.
Good nite!!!!!
Good nite!!!!!

Went
to my surgeon consult today went well. He advised me the gastric bypass
would be the best option cause he said insurance dont pay for the
gastric sleeve. So he advised me to call our insurance carrier to find
out bout the bariatric surgery. So when I got home called Cigna and they
said we DON'T have bariatric coverage. So now am screwed again. Always
something standing in way of me gettin my weight loss surgery. Am so
bummed cause no way I can afford to pay for surgery myself and no way to
get it financed. At the point of crying. After gettin my hopes up of
gettin this started only to be let down like a rock once again.
***********
Well I did a search online for Cigna Bariatric Surgery and found a document where it says it is covered. So boyfriend called his employer and they advised us to call Cigna back. So I called Cigna back and got a different person and they said yes it is covered as long as I follow the steps and requirements which I knew that anyways. So I did make my appointment for the psych eval it is scheduled for April 4th. So the hardest thing now is waiting out the 6 month medically supervised diet. Right before then have to go get labs done for Dr Sprunger, so will go a few days ahead of that.
